Remarks I observed the meteor from a window in my house. It was a perfectly clear night with no moon, so I was looking for shooting stars. I was facing east (I read earlier today that shooting stars can be observed to the south & east on this date.) This was the longest fireball I’ve ever witnessed and it went straight down. It was very bright white. Maybe brighter than I originally documented. Just behind the meteor at the start of the train it was dark orange and flickered. As it trailed it faded to lighter orange and back to white. It flashed brighter a couple of times as it got closer to the tree line. It ended a little ways below the trees (I could still see it through the leaves). I think it lasted 5-7 seconds total at 2:06am. I went outside and listened for any sounds until 2:12am, but traffic noise and frogs were loud tonight. I did not hear anything. It was amazing!
