Remarks When I first saw the object, it looked like a white dot surrounded by haze and wondered if it was a distant comet. Then I realized it was moving in real time. Seconds later a tail appeared, then dissipated before a second brief tail appeared, initially leading me to think that whatever it was might have passed through the upper reaches of the Earth's atmosphere. The objected ultimately faded into the distance, to my northeast.
