The sightings and description were described to me by my 9 year old son who was terrified by what he saw. The entire family heard the unusual thunder-like rumbling which sent us all running outside. The sky was clear and filled with stars...no local storm activity. We live in a rural area, not near firework activity. We are puzzled and curious about our experience....trying to figure out if what we heard/saw could possibly be a meteor?
