My eyes were shut and I was just drifting to sleep and the initial flash before I saw the fireball streak across the sky was so bright it made me open my eyes and see it! Initially thought it was one of those silent green fireworks going sideways but it was way bigger, brighter and longer lasting than that. Someone the other side of Oxford commented on it on Facebook in the morning!
