there might have been preceding noises like crackly or chunking but it was before I was fully awake so I can't identify what it was; there were definitely car alarms going off within a 2-3 mile radius because others I have talked to (living 2.5 miles away) heard it but they did not see it. We do have jerks that set fire works off at all times of the day but this seemed different
