Reports Report 1185am (Event 1185-2013)

Observer
Name Michaela B
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks The meteor was very large. When I first noticed the light out of the corner of my eye I thought for a moment that it was a low-flying plane or an extremely low-flying helicopter. This is the first meteor I have ever seen that continued for some time after the tail extinguished. It is also the first time I saw a meteor so large and close that it looked to be fizzling as it burned out.

Remarks After a long long the tail stopped, although the light continued to move across the sky. Then it seemed to break, that is, the light fizzled as though smaller bits were coming off and extinguishing. The light was wider, but the edges were disintegrating.
