| Remarks | Was driving westbound on NY-17 just before the NY-201 on-ramp near Wegman's in Johnson City, NY (was watching for merging traffic). Meteor started above the top of the windshield and terminated before it would've become obscured. Noted the time on car radio (which is synched either by satellite radio or GPS), 11:18 PM EDT. Core was small but bright, but I can't reliably estimate magnitude due to brevity and observing conditions (ambient lighting, driving at freeway speeds). |
