| Remarks | This was definitely an unexpected and very exciting event to observe. I have seen a comet (Hale-Bopp?) and the occassional shooting star; but have not experienced anything that was this brilliant or fast-moving. From our vantage point it seemed as though it was in the direct fligh-path of the Chesterfield, MO airport (we actually saw a plane heading west in the same path just after this sighting!). It also appeared very low in our horizon...to the point that we weren't sure whether it actually impacted in the Town & Country / Chesterfield, MO area! So much so that we checked the local news as soon as we arrived at home to see if impact actually occurred. |
