Remarks | I was leaving for work on 5/18/2013 at 2240 hours, when I observed a bright green fireball traveling northbound through the sky directly overhead. I've seen meteor showers, and "falling stars" before, but this was like something out of a comic book. Bright green and faster and larger than anything I have ever seen with no sound. Reminded me of the Green Lantern flying through space. unfortunately it flew behind cloud cover and was no longer visible. If I were to hold a ruler up in the air, the fireball was approximately 3" wide holding your arm straight up in the air and much brighter than the moon. I'm really hoping someone else out there observed this as well. I've been scouring the Internet looking for reports. Feel free to contact me about it. |
