Remarks | I have never seen anything like it in my 60 years of life. I have witnessed solar eclipses, colors to the moon, and constellations. But, NEVER in my life have I experienced, nor would have expected, to see a fireball, or anything from space speeding over houses so low that I could see the burning, breaking up, and intense light. I was up for another hour in awe, shock, and kept thinking, "what are the chances that I would see what I did at 1:45 am?" I did feel unnerved, unlucky and lucky for the experience. I felt vulnerable, and questioned my faith, science, and insignificance. I woke and had a reality check that being human on earth does not secure our existence or safety. I tried to find if anyone else say what I saw in the morning. I also was relieved it did not hit my house, or my neighbors, and did not cause a fire in the desert behind our houses. As a former teacher with a masters degree in Ed. teaching world history, forensic science and criminal law, it certainly was an enlightenment, teachable and learning moment, but more so it was humbling. I lost my mother 5 years ago and always looking up each night trying to make sense, or find peace in my heart. This experience had me feeling humble, and certain that humanity is a historical period in Earth's existence. We are not invincible. Damn! it was so amazing, and I got the chance of a lifetime to see, not just a shower, but a low traveling burning of a space rock. |

Remarks | I was standing on my back patio when I heard something streak over head. It sounded like a 4th of July firework streaking over our homes in the sky. It did not sound like it whistled, rather it sounded as if it was on fire, and the sound of something moving fast in the sky. I looked up to be shocked to see a very bright object that appeared to be on fire due to the tail. The trajectory was extremely low and seemed as if it would it the ground behind our neighborhood homes into the state land north of us. |

Remarks | When I first heard a sound and saw something on fire passing overhead. What was most shocking was the long bright trail. It was obviously being affected by the speed and heat it produced. It looked like a solid object burning intensely increasing due to its speed and trajectory. I was shocked, and remember thinking it was going to hit the earth soon. I looked around in the sky for more of the same, but the brightness of the object actually left a residual light in the sky for just a second or two for me to focus on the stars again. I never heard a crash, or explosion of the object. What made it so overwhelming was the fact that I was seeing a burning meteorite or something from space, and absolutely shocked by how low it traveled across the houses, in a straight northwest direction. It was low, clear to see the item burning, breaking up, and the trail grew as it passed over. |
