Remarks | I saw a 'regular' meteor in the same area of the sky at 11:55 PM May 17, 2013. About 15 minutes later I heard a strange sound and looked for the source. It was in the same area of the sky, but nearer, and was initially white with a while tail. As it came closer, I could see green on one side and blue on the other (I know one was on the top leading edge and one was on the bottom, but I can't remember which). Soon after the color appeared (within a second), flames appeared trailing the back half of the circular moving object for about two seconds and then both the visual and auditory abruptly ended. I was so shocked that I didn't think to check the time, but I estimate that it was fifteen minutes after the first meteor I saw, making it about 12:10, but it could have been as late as 12:20 AM. |
