Remarks I've seen a half dozen meteor showers in my lifetime, but this was something altogether different. I was driving west on Interstate 20 in Grovetown, GA near exit 190 when a giant blazing ball with a tail entered my vision from the left, crossed very low...as in airplane coming in for a landing low, and then went out of my vision to the right behind the treeline. Based on the angle and speed I'm guessing it hit the ground in the state of Georgia or South Carolina about 50-100 miles from Grovetown. I'm a bad judge of distance so it's hard for me to say. It was close enough that I got scared and gripped the steering wheel hard bracing for an impact tremor and a flash of light that never came. I'm anxious to learn if anyone else reported this. It was amazing!
