Was watching TV in the dark and was startled by bright explosive flash of multicolored light streaking downward in the large picture window behind the TV. It was much larger and brighter than a shooting star, much closer. Was startled that it looked to have streaked right overhead and then downward. No way of knowing about sound because the TV was on and would have muffled it.
