Remarks | I am a TV meteorologist. I phoned the Charleston NWS office to report and left a message. Time was 00:43-00:45 less than a minute, as my car clock is a minute or two behind. Could have been a military jet headed to Columbus. |

Remarks | Horizontal, becoming more obvious as the object over took me and outran me. Thought it was a medflight helicopter headed for Athens at first, til it grew a glowing steady tail. From SE to NW crossed W Rte 50 ahead of me and then beyond tree lined hill to NW just to the right of my direction of travel. Steady, smooth movement, no curves, no flashes, no sparkles, easily as bright as Jupiter, which it nearly passed in front of from my moving vantage point. My windows were up, listening to a podcast while driving. Couldn't hear any sound. |
