| Remarks | It was far off in the distance, at least 10 miles away, and was distinctly visible as a bright object in the western sky. It was far too bright to be an aircraft, and I checked for any flights in that area using a flight tracker, and there wasn't any. I teach astronomy and spend a lot of time observing in this area, and this is the first time I've seen a fireball. It did disappear, but didn't appear to explode. It was nearly level, but headed slightly downwards. I was genuinely surprised at it's magnitude- easily visible in the fully lit morning western sky. |
