I'm an amateur astronomer who regularly observes meteor showers and frequently observes the night sky with my telescopes. I have never seen a bolide this bright (or which persisted this long) in my life.

Remarks
The meteor continued to brighten (white to light yellow) although there was no sudden terminal flash. The event appeared to end with fragmentation into at least three smaller fragments which briefly persisted, much like the end of a firework.
