Reports Report 5736f (Event 5736-2021)

Observer
Name Clemmitt S
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks NOTE: DID NOT SEE ANY FIREBALL or other lights or display in the sky, *BUT* there is no way to file a report without stating the light display the observer saw.... I heard this event, as described under the sonic phenomenon section of the report, out of the back window of my upstairs bedroom. It was very clear and unmistakable. At the very first sounds I figured it was a Navy jet training or something like that, because they sometimes "buzz" the Valley. But this sounded distinct and different than any jet, or other sounds from the sky, which I have ever heard *shrug* Didn't realize it might be a bolide until I read Internet news reports around 4 PM EDT. Please contact me if I can provide any more Information.

Remarks Heard 2 1/2 miles W of Mt. Jackson right off Rt. 263. The sound was coming from the WNW. At first it sounded like loud fireworks exploding in rapid succession, like at the end of a big 4th of July display. Then it changed and sounded like a large rocket maybe 20 or 30 seconds after liftoff, a loud, rolling rumble. It then faded out quickly.
