Reports Report 5715o (Event 5715-2021)

Observer
Name Todd F
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks Looked like a comet because tail was not aligned with travel path. However it also appeared to be at a relatively low altitude based on the speed at which it traveled. Please note that I may be mistaken in the angle of the tail. However, the tail was significant at it was not in line with the direction the object was moving (thus my comment - it looked like a comet).

Remarks I saw the initially object from at 45-60 degrees above the horizon coming from the south. When I first saw it was bright white with a tail trailing towards the west. As it traveled towards the northeast sky, the tail was still visible and the object changed to red in color. I traced the red object (tail visible) until it was no longer visible due the distance. I don’t think it ever became invisible. It looked like a comet, unlike any shooting star I have ever seen. Very unsettling.
