Remarks This was nothing like a typical meteor shower sighting. I see those all the time up here. We actually were returning from the Two Hearted river and had seen normal meteor shower activity earlier in the night. I have never seen anything like this in real life and I am 50 years old. This thing appeared to be really close to my location, but I assume it was not a very large object since it made no noise. I have seen videos of much larger meteorites, but I have never seen a video of one that was like this one. The flash was about the size of a small aircraft just before it starts to land. It went across the sky extremely fast. Yet the streak and the flash seemed so much closer than any meteor shower, based on the size. This area is very remote and the sky has very little light pollution. My car was moving about 55 mph, if that is a factor.

Remarks I was driving eastbound on M-28. It appeared suddenly streaked over a relatively long distance and seemed to have a blue colored center and it was white around the center. It seemed to flash and disappear as suddenly as it appeared. Based on how large it appeared. I assumed it must have been fairly close to my location. This was nothing on the outer atmosphere like a shooting star this made me say "Whoa that was huge". I was surprised that I didn't hear a noise. I can't say if it hit the ground. It might not have. I just know that it seemed to disappear before it would have passed me (meaning it did not go west of me at all). That it did not go south of M-28 at all. I assume if a rock did hit the ground that it went down somewhere between Tahquamenon Falls to Whitefish Point or maybe further north. I would say the flash looked to be about a quarter of the size of a typical moon. So it was really big.
