Reports Report 4866b (Event 4866-2021)

Observer
Name Shawn R
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks The object burned out in front of my eyes, if it had been one second earlier it would have landed within yards of my feet. It faintly "fuffed" as it went by, a bright horizontal teardrop shape, and it simply went out. I saw other reports at the same time, along the path of this objects trajectory, roughly Chicago IL to Cleveland OH. Although I have not concentrated on meteors specifically, I know a ton about space. I have owned a meteorite from Odessa, Texas for over 30 years, and a tektite. From the light and the altitude (not impossible to calculate, we have planes passing overhead all day from Hopkins Airport) I would put it as the size of a baseball, with a large bright yellow to white glow, the altitude at 750 feet max, and it just silently went out. NO sparks, fragmentation or explosion, just out. As if it disintegrated all at once. It looked like a horizontal teardrop shape. Not a firework or drone. Very swift. Blew my mind.
