About a half second before the terminal flash was a smaller flash about half as bright as the terminal flash. Some fragmentation fell out of one of the flashes, but I do not remember which one. Maybe both.

The fragments moved mostly downward and slightly to the right (east). I could only see about 3 or 4 and they quickly burned up.
