| Remarks | I've only seen a meteor once before in 29 years of life. It was a super thin streak no wider than a sewing needle. this was easily 2 or 3 times as thick, and it was an amazing experience. AT first i thought it was a plane taking off. Like a fighter jet. But there was no sonic boom, or engine sounds. In the sky at the same time, two planes with flashing lights flew by, making plane sounds, and a very bright solid white light on the other side of the sky was moving away slowly (satellite?), but it was NOTHING like what i saw with the meteor. it moved and looked just like the shooting star i saw a year ago, but WAY brighter and thicker. it actually startled me with how bright it was in the black sky. It was so unlike most images of shooting stars i'd seen before, at first i wasn't sure if that's even what it was. once in a lifetime experience. I wish i'd been able to take a picture. |

| Remarks | I don't know how many degrees it was. From where I was standing, it looked like it was two or three "inches" long. At first it was a solid white streak from the head to the end of the tail, and the tail was almost as thick as the ball itself. After, it seemed like there might have been a fading smoke trail. But that could also have been the afterimage of the light flare. The moon wasn't in that part of the sky, so I couldn't tell for sure. |
