Reports Report 2797k (Event 2797-2021)

Observer
Name Amy W
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks It was so unexpected to see and appeared to be so close (within a few miles of my house it seemed) it took my breath away because I was both startled and in awe. I live 45 min south of Cincinnati and have seen airplanes taking off from CVG airport (at a relatively low yet steady altitude). The fireball I saw tonight, I first saw it, lower than the altitude where I typically see those planes. Then I saw it falling - at a fast rate and almost straight down, for 3 or 4 seconds and lost sight above the treeline (my view is partially blocked). It just looked like a fireball with a bit of a tail (light trailing behind it). It sent chills down my spine. I was just outside hollering for my dog, and looked up and saw it.
