Reports Report 1916bb (Event 1916-2021)

Observer
Name Melanie V
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks This was remarkable!! I was closing my blinds and thought an airplane was heading to the field maybe 1 mile away (I live in the flats, and I thought it was VERY close), full of colorful flashing lights at tip, tail, all the wings, underneath, etc. My eyes focused on it for about 1-2 seconds and it took my breath away when I realized it was activity in the sky! I ran outside to try to capture it on camera but could not. 1-2 minutes later I saw two small lights with trails, each with a bright flash light before they disappeared in the same general vicinity as these 15+ lights/trails I saw. Clear sky, not a cloud in sight. Without a doubt the most astonishing thing I've ever witnessed in the night sky. I am by no means anything close to having experience viewing, but I do enjoy sitting beneath the night sky and watching meteor showers and seeing some shooting stars.

Persistent train
Observation Yes

Remarks multiple (15+) bright objects appeared moving across the sky for several seconds until they each slowly disappeared, leaving their trains behind which lasted a few seconds. At first glimpse I thought it was a very low flying aircraft full of lights, possibly an emergency landing. As it continued I noticed it had multiple, multiple streaks moving across the sky and it was most definitely NOT an aircraft! Looked as though there were being sprayed, figuratively.
Terminal flash
Observation No
Remarks -
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks It appeared as just a handful of bright lights at first, 5 or so, but at one point I saw at least 15-20 fragments lighting up simultaneously towards the end, until they all dissipated.
