Remarks | This thing (which a colleague tells me may have been a fireball) was bigger than anything I remember ever seeing in the sky other than the moon or sun. It was so bright I saw it from indoors, with full lights on. And even so it looked astonishingly bright. I was working intently at the computer, which faces a south window. This thing was so bright it attracted my attention upward from the computer, out the window. There was a trail, but it didn't remain after the thing disappeared. I guess I vaguely remember seeing Haley's comet some years ago, and maybe it was about that big, or not as big, I really don't remember, but this thing was definitely bigger than anything I've ever seen that I would (as a layperson) call a shooting star. |
