Reports Report 1609bd (Event 1609-2021)

Observer
Name Greg E
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I am a casual observer with an interest in space science and I have never seen anything like this before. This is by far the greatest cosmological experience I have ever witnessed! The afterglow was phenomenal! It lasted for more than a few minutes after the main object disappeared from my view.

Remarks I noticed a bright cone of light traveling from south to north with a very bright dot at the point. The object seemed to ionize the air (like an aurora) as the light lingered for quite some time after I lost sight of the object itself (at least 5 minutes). The speed seemed very slow compared to other meteorites I have seen. The cone was about 35 - 40 degrees.
