Reports Report 1382cx (Event 1382-2021)

Observer
Name Elizabeth L
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks I was driving on Rt 14 headed north through East Bethel at sunset. The valley was already in the shadows, but the sky overhead was bright blue, sunny and clear. I suddenly saw a moving object flash in front of me. I saw it through the windshield. It was a bright golden streak that was lit up by the sun shining on it and it was sparkling against the blue sky. I believe it was a meteor (based on the way it dropped out of the sky suddenly) and also I have seen several during my lifetime. This one was unusual because it appeared during daylight. It seemed to be very low in sky and looked like it was going to drop into the fields and the valley. It seemed like it was only several hundred feet above me and maybe a mile or 2 ahead of me.
