Remarks I’ve never seen anything like this in my 42 years on this planet! It was very bright, very fast, started out white then turned blueish; it happened so quickly my boyfriend didn’t even see it as I was yelling at him to hurry and come look. My first thought was a shooting star but it was WAY too low. I wondered to myself if something actually hit the ground? I assure you it was NOT a firework. I thought the lack of sound was also noteworthy. I posted what I observed on NextDoor and (so far) two other people confirmed they saw it last night (as they were driving) and they, too, had never seen anything like it. (One of the two folks that commented on my NextDoor post also thought it was strange enough that she, too, tried to Google it when she got home)! Then this morning I found your website; thank you for collecting this data! I’m very interested to know how many other people saw this and I’m hoping someone caught it on camera... I don’t feel confident in the directional estimates I provided but in general I was facing West looking toward the ocean. I don’t know if it was a fireball or not but it was very interesting and unexpected!
