Reports Report 8183a (Event 8183-2020)

Observer
Name Richard W
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks No helicopter noise. Didn't look like a headlight. Looked like a meteor but much larger and brighter than the normal white pinpricks. Sudden bright trail then orange yellow flare. I expected to hear a sound but didn't. Headed directly away from me in line with the road. More moon sized than pinprick. I have watched meteor showers in the UK and in clear African desert skies. This was unusual in size and colour so I thought worth reporting. There was diffuse cloud cover in the area of the object much of the rest of the sky clear and cloudless. Time is approximate. Didn't think to look at my watch.
