Reports Report 8179a (Event 8179-2020)

Observer
Name Jamie S
Experience Level 5/5
Remarks The fireball showed no flaring or flickering, just two fragments evenly glowing. I was driving at the time, and spotted it while glancing sideways at the Moon. I looked back at the road ahead, and one more quick glance the two fragments were still visible. Total duration of the path that I saw was about 4 seconds,Speed was slow to medium, quite graceful, and obviously faster than an aircraft might have appeared.

Remarks I first saw the fireball as two fragments, the leading fragment slightly brighter than the trailing one, and separated by about half a degree. The fragments passed directly above the nearly full Moon, passing in and out of the broken cloud that was present. The Moon was fully visible enabling a brightness comparison.
