Reports Report 7180e (Event 7180-2020)

Experience Level 1/5
Remarks I'm thoroughly ignorant about stargazing, but what my wife and I sawe was really cool and weird. I'd like to know if anyone else saw it or knows what really happened. From the time stamps on other photos we took this evening, it had to be after 5:30 and before 5:55, so most likely about 5:40-5:45. We were standing on the edge of a brook at dusk and looking northwest. I honestly assumed it was just a helicopter flying with blue-white lights and a bit of trail, but then it disappeared in less than about 10 seconds, while well within my field of view and too close for an aircraft to have flown out of sight.

Remarks It looked like several lights right next to each other. I thought it was a helicopter until it disappeared suddenly while close enough that we ought to have still been able to see it!
