Reports Report 5382j (Event 5382-2020)

Observer
Name Rachel F
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks This meteor/fireball was the brightest event I have seen in the sky. It was slower and much much larger than most meteors I have seen. Usually when watching a meteor or meteor shower, all I see is a pale yellow or white streak of light that happens so fast you can almost not even see it. This fireball on the other hand was huge, orange and very bright. It initially left a yellow streak across the sky then erupted into an orange flash/explosion. After that it continued a little farther only to burst into a yellow starburst of light at the end of the trajectory that I witnessed. This occurred at twilight/evening, and the fact that I could see it so clearly at that hour as well as with a smokey atmosphere from local fires leads me to believe that it was probably even brighter than what I could see from my vantage point. Other than eclipses, this was the most exciting experience for me to witness. I think it is incredible I just happened to look up at the exact moment to see it.
