Remarks I was outside walking my dog around 1:00AM on Dec 15th. I was looking almost straight up into the sky looking for some meteors, when a very red (As bright as Betelguese but slightly more vibrant red) was slowly, slowly making its way across high across the sky in a straight line going away from me. As I have 20/20 vision, there were absolutely no blinking of lights as to determine it was an aeroplane. (Which at first glance is what I thought it was.) However, it was a deep, crimson red that just slowly made its way through the sky and disappeared from sight. Saw no explosion or trails, nor smoke. Just faded from my visibility after approx 20 seconds or more. There was one other person with me when this occurred and will concur that this happened and thst what we saw was most definitely not an plane.... which after searching the web, led us to the term "Fireball" and this forum.
