Reports Report 3520bd (Event 3520-2020)

Observer
Name Brian T
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks This is the second time I have reported a fireball here. The last was a couple years ago & a much shorter duration - also it was neon green. This orange/red one last night is one of the longest meteor/fireball streaks I have ever witnessed. I had just finished shooting photos of comet Neowise & saw this fireball spectacle. It was a great evening!

Remarks The fireball first looked like a drone (orange steady light) really booking across, coming from from my right to left, from the west a good 45 or 60 degree above southern horizon. Midway through the approx 6 second event it brightened a bit & there were fragments- perhaps a terminal flash?- sparking off and then the fireball became a glowing red as it disappeared heading east. I had just finished shooting comet photos. Time was 10:47 pm There was a trail of sorts and I remember it orange and fading out.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks About midway through this 6-7 second event it brightened a bit & fragments sparked off but quickly faded away- but they were there. Then the color changed from orange to red and faded east.

Remarks See above- no noise that I recall
