Reports Report 3408u (Event 3408-2020)

Observer
Name Zachary S
Experience Level 4/5
Remarks This seems likely to have been a piece of Neowise to me, the trajectory seems consistent with that. It seemed to be directly overhead and is the closest I have ever been to a fireball. I would guess no more than 20 miles distant, but I haven't seen many close ones so it is hard for me to have a scale to compare it to. I was observing Jupiter and Saturn when I first saw the light form the fireball, so it may have started closer to 25 degrees or so but it took me a moment to turn my gaze from the telescope. The scale of the smoke trail was approximately a thumb's width held at arm's length, or 1 to 2 degrees.
