| Remarks | This object was observed by 5 members of my family (including myself). It was first spotted by my wife and son ~.25 mile north of the intersection shown on the report. The rest of us spotted it at the intersection. We lost sight of the object ~1 mile south of the intersection as we passed behind a tree line. It was fairly low, just above the horizon, moving rather slowly and relatively parallel to the horizon. I would have written this off as a contrail, had it not been for the visible fragmentation splitting off from the main body. Several smaller fragments and one larger fragment appeared to continue to travel parallel to the main object after breaking off. We had visual of the object for 20-30 seconds. Traveling horizontally and visible too long to be fireworks related. |
