Remarks |
My wife and I were sitting on our patio, gazing at the stars, my chair facing nearly due south. As I rotated my head to the left, I spotted in my peripheral vision a bright streak of light in the northeast sky- -a discernible bright yellow “dot” with a long, mostly white tail. [I later determined it appeared in the approximate location of the constellation Cygnus.] The extremely bright meteor [fireball?] moved along a shallow, downward trajectory for a maximum of about five seconds, finally obscured by tall evergreen trees along the eastern border of our yard and subsequently, the rear part of another house located behind the southeast corner of our property. My wife witnessed the event over a roughly three-second span and concurs with my color and configuration description.
