Reports Report 2779ay (Event 2779-2020)

Observer
Name Ben B
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I was looking out the window so I was unable to see directly overhead, but it appeared to originate nearly overhead, and the trajectory appeared to be closer to straight down than most any meteor or fireball that I have seen, and I am a truck driver who used to do a lot of night hiking, so I have seen quite a few. It came out of the north and went to the south. To the south of me are the mountains between Tehachapi and Mohave (the ones covered in windmills) and it flashed to black just before dissappearing behind the hills. I know that distance can be deceiving, but it appeared to be very close, like it would have hit north of highway 210 let's say, and my gut feeling is it would have been somewhere in the box of highway 58, i5, and 14, so west of Lancaster and north of Santa Clarita. It was very smooth and fine grained,, blue with little bits of green pulsing in and out.
