Experience Level 3/5
Remarks This sighting was awesome!!! I was totally speechless and was hoping someone else may have gotten lucky enough to catch a photo of it. I’m sure other people saw it too.. would be really hard for me to believe if you don’t get other reports of this potential fireball.. would also be really unfortunate! Cause, I’m telling ya— THAT was IMPRESSIVE!

Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks I thought it was a shooting star at first, but then the front circle part of the meteor got bigger and seemed like it had crashed harder into the atmosphere and the impact made a big burst burst of flame-like colors!
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks If I’m correct in my assumption of what fragmentation means… What I saw was it start out “small” , Like an impressive meteor during a meteor shower observation… Then I was shocked that it didn’t taper off and fade like a normal shooting star… Instead it burst and got bigger and brighter and really looked like a fireball. That first burst melted away and actually disappeared almost entirely… May be entirely for a split second before Another huge burst of light in color, slightly smaller than the first one but still much bigger and brighter than any shooting stars I’ve seen before in my life.. I s t a r g a z e quite a bit and have patiently waited through lots of meteor showers… This was different and much more violent looking and explosive than I’ve ever seen.
