This was nothing like I've ever seen before. I was actually out looking for the aurora and was annoyed that the car came along and ruined my long exposure. I think you may be MORE interested in the photo that followed as I can't interpret it but it's definitely a continuation of the phenomena that I had already seen. Also, to be honest I'm not SURE if I heard anything as it was all so quick.

It disappeared behind the cloud (see photo) but the camera picked up a flash (green and white light). When the 20sec exposure finished, I immediately started another. I was seeing some flashes and assumed it was a plane but when I looked at the next exposure there is a series of green and parallel white(ish) lines but horizontal - NOT the direction the meteor was heading.
