It was a shock to see it because it was bright and low to the ground. I felt sure the remains would have landed very near by but the other houses in the neighbourhood obscured my vision of where it may have landed. My experience observing meteors is watching for tiny streaks of light in the summer sky when I'm at the cottage. This was not like them at all - very low, I feel no more than 100 to 200 feet off the ground.
