Remarks | I was driving a 2001 honda CRV, I am 6'3" and sit up straight when driving. That limits the time/distance I saw it fall. It was farther away than the far rim of the valley because it didn't light up those hills (18 miles away) as it fell. It was a very thick shooting star at first, as it neared the mountains on the far side it flared out in an instant, bluish white, and as wide as my thumb at arms length. It held that size for about 2 diameter-widths and went out before it fell behind the mountains. There was a cinder, couldn't tell if it was intact. I couldn't see if any smoke. no sonic boom, I listened for 5-8 seconds and left my window down. whole thing lasted maybe 2 seconds it was going pretty fast |
