Remarks I was driving when I saw the meteor cross my field of vision. It was so close to me like nothing I had ever seen. I saw it come from the north in a slight diagonal downward path toward the south. It never evaporated like a normal \"shooting star\" would in the night sky. It disappeared behind some trees into the hills. I thought for sure this would be newsworthy because of the size of it. It was about a quarter mile away from me and looked like the size of a very large boulder. Larger than a basketball, smaller than a car. It was very bright-like the sun but not blinding. I\'d say it looked white or vary light yellow. The tail looked like the same color and it was more cone shaped instead of long and skinny. I saw sparks and flickers come from the tail like little bombs exploding. It lasted a good long time and I thought for sure it\'s landing would be newsworthy.
