Remarks | I live in a coastal region so it could have been a flare. It was in the opposite direction to the sea, but could have been kids messing around on Christmas day. I have seen many falling flares and it didn't look like that, but it may have been. It could have been a firework though I didn't hear or see any others. I had been out for half an hour beforehand. I was sober! I was facing towards high trees uphill from me, it went behind the trees. It was a cloudy night. I live in a dark area. It first appeared under the cloud cover. I am unsure of my brightness rating. I consider venus pretty bright. But it was much larger than even venus at its brightest. From where I was standing I held up my fingers to measure the size of the ball of light and the gap was about 3mm. |
