Remarks I was sitting in my living room watching TV and a friend was talking on the phone. From the distance, I could hear a very loud sound approaching, like an extremely low-flying jet, and it became very evident coming from the direction of the TV which sits in about the North corner of the livingroom. Then it kept becoming louder and louder causing me enough concern that I thought it might be just clearing the huge Redwood tree outside. It was so loud that the entire building and ground shook, and it affected the television screen and distorted the picture horizontally for several seconds. It was NOT a sonic boom, but it was an extremely loud engine-like sound, and the sound lasted the entire time that it traveled over the complex, and I could hear it traveling away from the building in the opposite direction. I did not actually see it, however, the curtains lit up as it went by. It was an amazing experience! Than I found out on the News that it was a meteor! I sure wish I could have seen it with my own eyes, like the VW sized one silently streaming through the sky that I saw on August 14, 1991. That one was amazing also.
