Reports Report 1528em (Event 1528-2012)

Remarks Four of us were having dinner on the patio, after dark. There were two candles on the table, and about 3-4 light bulbs in fixtures around the patio roof. The sky was dark. The night was clear - I had noticed several passenger jets coming from the NW over the previous 10-15 minutes, and also had seen a few stars in the sky, despite the light around our patio. I was sitting in the best direction to see this meteor. I exclaimed when I saw it, but nobody else paid attention before it was gone (two were busy w/ cell phones, head down position). I am sure this was seen by many more people, and wonder if some pieces hit the ground or fell into the SF Bay, which is only a few miles from us. I have no idea how high it was-maybe it would have landed in the East Bay or in the foothills beyond. Thanks.

Length 20°
Remarks First saw a bright burst of light that broke into pieces, some quite large. Saw several chunks that made up what you call the train.
Terminal flash
