Remarks | Meteor was observed by myself and a relative. We were in separate cars southwest bound on I-55, at mile-marker 206, at 7:06 pm local time. From my perspective, it appeared out of the tinted area of my windshield, dropping down. It's departure from view was abrupt. Being in a car with the radio on limited my ability to hear anything or see any trail. At our next stop I asked if the other driver had seen anything in the sky, she replied "Yes, either a shooting star or a flare gun (Falling down)". Previous experience includes seeing a persistent Perseid smoke trail, I did not see the meteor itself, as I was helping a close friend up on the hood of my car; now she knew I was serious about meteor watching. |
