Reports Report 1379eh (Event 1379-2012)

Observer
Name Andrew C
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks There were 5 of us in the garden watching the sky at the time as it was a very clear night so great for star watching, initially we thought the object was a large firework but it was very quickly apparent that it wasn\'t as it travelled across the skyline - it was completely unlike anything any of us had seen before - I\'ve seen hundreds of \'shooting stars\' over the years and this was nothing like that, firstly due to its size as it looked very large and secondly due to its speed as it moved relatively slowly compared to a shooting star, I would compare the speed to be more like slightly slower than the speed of a jet fighter flying over head. I\'ve read a number of reports from across the UK of people seeing the same object and it has been reported on the BBC news etc. the only thing that was different about our sighting was that we heard the noise 3 minutes afterwards whereas none of the other reports I\'ve read mention this, a friend who lives approximately one mile away heard the noise in their house and went outside to see what it was. Feel very lucky to have seen such an event !
