Remarks | I was driving down Lookout Mtn and was more than halfway down when I saw the burning object falling from the sky. From my height, the object seemed to be about at eye level and below before it broke apart. I first thought it was a plane, but the angle of descent was extremely steep. It seemed to get brighter just before it looked like it was catching on fire as the flames broke apart and the object disappeared above horizon (but below the horizon from my vantage point. Depending on its size, I figured it to be as close as a few miles East-southeast of the city and as far as 50 miles if it was extremely large. |
