Remarks A splinter piece, about 5 or 10% of the observable portion of the main fireball lost angular momentum after in broke off at the 5 O'Clock position while the main body maintained its apparent horizontal bearing to the surface. From my viewing position I would estimate its diameter at about 40% of a full moon.
